Church of St. Michael

St. Michael’s Church, Kysуlyn village — an active Orthodox sanctuary, built in 1777. Initially, the church was likely Greek-Catholic, but after the russian empire came to Volyn, it became Orthodox.

The church is designed in the Baroque style. It is small but striking in its forms. The walls are extremely thick — over one meter — which also allowed the church to serve fortification purposes.

Information that the church was built in 1645 often appears online; however, this refers to its wooden predecessor, which stood on the site before the current stone structure.
