About

The picturesque village of Kysylyn is home to one of the most interesting sacred sites in Volhynia — the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, better known as the Carmelite Church.

The church is an architectural monument of the 18th century (1720) and is associated with the activities of the Carmelite monastic order, which played an important role in the spiritual and cultural life of the region. Its construction was part of the broader development of Catholic centres in Volhynia during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

The architecture of the church combines Renaissance and Baroque features. Massive walls, restrained decor and, at the same time, monumental forms create a sense of strength and spiritual concentration. The temple was once part of a monastery complex, which was an important centre of education and religious life.

Despite the trials of time, wars, and changing historical eras, the building has retained its character and remains a landmark of Volhynia. Today, it is not only the architectural dominant of the village, but also a place that attracts researchers, tourists, and anyone interested in the history of the region.
