The Kysylyn Museum is about an idea, an idea that arose simultaneously in two strangers whose ancestors once lived in Kysylyn. And so, a series of coincidences and happy coincidences led to the creation of a place in the former town where you can hear and see the past not only of Kysylyn, but also of the surrounding areas.
The official opening of the Kysylyn Museum took place on 8 November 2023.
The aim of our museum is to conduct high-quality research into the past, which is why we have already managed to uncover many interesting facts about Kysylyn's past and debunk several myths that began to spread in the 19th century.
We place a special emphasis on genealogy. In our opinion, every resident of Kysylyn has influenced its past, so their names and biographies are important and necessary for a general understanding of the historical processes here.
A museum cannot exist on its own, so we are very happy when local residents get involved in its creation. Every memory, every scanned photo or document, every item donated or transferred for temporary exhibition is an important element in building local consciousness, the foundation of the museum's existence, and also allows us to discover the connection between today's residents and their ancestors.
