On the picturesque shores of the largest lake in Ukraine, Svityaz, the internship base of the camp "Gart" of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University is located. For more than 40 years, students of the educational institution have had the opportunity to undergo internships, participate in international, all-Ukrainian, regional and university scientific and practical conferences, seminars, improve their health and relax.

At the initiative of the University leadership, the reconstruction of the camp was begun, because eight old wooden houses and six kolybas could not accommodate even a third of the student interns. The conditions of the camp did not allow to accept students and teachers in the cold season, it operated only in the summer months.

Today, the internship base will hospitably welcome 200 people wishing to relax. First of all, large sleeping buildings were built - "Vulyk", "Murashnik" - these are two-story premises with rooms for 2-3 people and holiday houses with all amenities (furniture, refrigerator, TV, etc.). New ventilation, heating and sewage systems have been connected to the wooden structures, which makes it possible to receive people all year round. Each building has an original name: "Silver Wolf", "Bear Paw", "Pound-bellied Frog", "Berkut", "Badger's Den", "Three Storks", "Big Spider", "May Khrushch", administrative building "Peregrine Falcon", conference hall - "Owl", sauna - "Beaver House", dining room - "Three Bears". The conference hall, designed for 300 seats, is a special pride. Near the beach there is a summer bar and a dance floor.

The unique natural landscape, ecologically clean area, natural beauty, favorable climate, gentle sun, healing water of the lake gave impetus to the student festival of Ukrainian pop songs "On the Waves of Svityazya" on the basis of the camp "Gart", organized by the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka. Every year, participants of the "Miss University" competition have the opportunity to relax on the territory of the base in the summer.

The camp has a sports and health-improving orientation, so teachers, employees, students and guests of the recreation center can spend their free time on the playgrounds for playing volleyball, basketball, handball, on tennis courts, gymnastics grounds, and a football stadium. Anyone can relax in the sports and health-improving camp "Gart" in the autumn-winter period.

Much has already been done, but construction continues and is carried out on the basis of natural, environmentally friendly materials, using the latest technologies and in compliance with modern construction requirements.
