An archeological site of interest is the ancient settlement in the Old Czartoria. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the village was simply called Chortory. There are several versions about the origin of the name of this settlement. Legend has it that the name of the village is associated with evil spirits. It is as if once due to a heavy downpour, water dug into many ditches in the local hills, causing a lot of damage to the villagers. People saw this as a "devil's force" and called the village ChortoRiem.
