Church of Saint Josaphat
Kovelska Street, 45 VolodymyrAbout
The Lutheran church is a 19th-century architectural monument and a testament to the multicultural history of Volodymyr. It was built by German colonists in 1890 at the expense of the community. The church is made in the neo-Gothic style, and a pastor's house was built next to it. In 1929, an organ was installed in the church.
Today, the former church belongs to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic community: the church of St. Josaphat operates here, and the pastor's house is home to a Basilian monastery. The building retains Gothic features that complement the architectural image of Volodymyr.
